Dan Trapp - Founder & Host

With thirty years of leadership experience in the sports and outdoor industry, I leverage my market knowledge, expertise, and network to collaborate with clients, gaining a deep understanding of their needs to fulfil their strategic vision and operational plans.

Having lived and worked in the UK, Switzerland, France, and Finland for businesses owned by stakeholders from North America, Europe, and Asia, I possess a unique perspective that enables me to understand the requirements and challenges of building international businesses with high-performing global teams, as well as leading international companies with high-performing global teams.

Passionate about the Outdoors, I love skiing, canoeing and paddling, which I enjoy practising with my wife and thirteen-year-old son.

With over 10 years’ experience at brands including Columbia Sportswear, HOKA and Fusalp, I’ve built a strong understanding of the Sports & Outdoor industry and a real passion for working with people.

Today, at Sports+Outdoor Search, I connect with senior leaders, support candidates throughout the recruitment process, and create content for Sports+Outdoor Mentors.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, especially hiking and canoeing, while yoga has long been part of my life.

Abba Sani Jibril - Research and Growth Associate

I joined Sports+Outdoor Search as an intern and have since moved into my role as Research & Growth Associate, combining research, data and technology to support our searches and business growth.

Alongside my role, I just completed a Master’s in International Management at UM6P Africa Business School, with a background in Software Engineering and experience across consulting and data analytics.

I bring an analytical, international perspective to the team, with a real interest in using data to uncover insights and opportunities.
